Matt McNeely

Matt’s passion for architecture is driven by a fascination with how materials and building systems assemble to create meaningful spaces. His design approach gives equal importance to a building’s visual character and the performance of its inner workings. By viewing architecture as both an art and a craft, he strives to deliver solutions that balance beauty and function.
He serves as a leader in Moseley’s higher education sector. As he guides his team through the various stages of decision-making, Matt leads with optimism in pursuit of collaborative solutions. He understands what the modern academic environment requires, having spent over 20 years on higher education projects. From lecture-style teaching formats to multi-directional, technologically rich classrooms, he strives to create spaces that can accommodate a wide spectrum of learning and pedagogical styles. Even more, he focuses on creating durable buildings that will not only last but operate at a high level for decades to come.
For Matt, educational design must consider how students and faculty will experience the built environment. By listening closely to clients and asking the right questions, he determines how the space will inspire learning, encourage collaboration with peers, and allow for creativity. He then balances these elements with practical, sustainable, future-proof results. He leans on a team of qualified colleagues throughout this process. Together, they draw from their collective insight and expertise to satisfy each project’s requirements.
