The State Council of Higher Education for Virginia (SCHEV) has named Moseley a "2026 Top Virginia Employer for Interns," honoring the firm among 161 employers across the commonwealth for providing high-impact internship experiences that prepare students for careers in the design and construction industry.
The annual award recognizes Virginia employers that offer hands-on experience, access to senior leadership, structured mentorship and industry certifications that equip students with in-demand professional skills. This is the second year Moseley has been among the winners.
"Our internship program is designed to reflect how we actually work. Students move between disciplines, contribute to real projects and build relationships with colleagues across the firm. That kind of experience cannot be replicated in a classroom, and we are proud that SCHEV has recognized the program's depth and structure," said Moseley’s Director of Human Resources Whitney Montgomery.
More than 91% of this year's awardees provide paid internships, with a majority offered in person during the summer months. Nearly half of recognized employers convert internships into full-time positions. SCHEV will formally recognize honorees on July 30, 2026, in Richmond during Virginia Intern Day, a statewide celebration of student interns, employers and higher education partners.
“These organizations aren’t just hosting interns, they’re building Virginia’s future workforce,” said Alisha Bazemore, Ed.D., assistant director of innovative work-based learning initiatives. “Their leadership is opening doors for students to gain meaningful experience and launch successful careers.”
Internship Program
Moseley's summer internship program places students on projects spanning architecture, engineering, interior design and construction administration, from initial concept through final presentation. Interns receive approximately 25 hours of Revit training, participate in group workshops covering sustainability, historic preservation and project management, and gain access to Moseley University, the firm's in-house learning platform. The program also includes mentorship, career conversation forums with recent graduates and experienced professionals, and portfolio and personal brand development sessions.
